Lizzie Owens : Highland
Lizzie Owens knows how to dress
performers. From psychedelic woodsmen to hip-hop street kids, Owens, a
Utah native, has costumed an array of bands, like MGMT, the Cool Kids
and Brandon Flowers from the Killers. Her third and most fully conceived
collection for Highland, which she started with partners and childhood
friends Cramer Tolboe (above left) and Mike Franks (right), features
rugged, wearable clothes for the everyday man. Highland showcases mixed
prints, unconventional details (like detachable pockets) and classic
outerwear in surprising materials (like a teddy-bear car coat) that
combine the theatricality of her past with what appears to be a
practical future.
