Since it's been pouring and windy here in San Francisco, we thought it would be a good idea to finally test out our water-resistant, Fjallraven Kala parka for all of you.
All our Fjallraven jackets are made with their G-1000 fabric that can be waxed during the winter months. G-1000 is advertised as:
water repellent and quick-drying
almost completely windproof
a breathable fabric

provides UV protection and is UPF 50+
mosquito safe

Holly was brave enough to be our test subject. Here are our results:
We had Holly stand out in the rain for a few minutes, making sure she got a good soak.

When she came back inside, we noticed that the water sat on top of the fabric, easily sliding off when she shook it. The water did not soak through at all. Though she wore only a thin layer of jersey underneath and is a small person, she said that also did not feel the gusty wind penetrate the fabric, keeping her not only dry, but protected against the draft.

I love this jacket! I just bought it at their flagship store in NYC in 'soft brown' - it's the best jacket I've ever owned and I have alot of jackets!
